Revoke SRO-202 ex MLA Ramban appeals LG
4/16/2020 9:51:01 PM
Early Times Report

Ramban, April 16: Ashok Kumar Former MLA and a Senior Congress leader has urged upon Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Girish Chandra Murmu that SRO-202 should be revoked immediately as Sro-202 issued by Jammu and Kashmir Government on 30th June 2015 is totally discriminatory and completely against the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement here, Ashok said that a person appointed under this rule shall be on probationary period for five years and after completion of five years in the service shall declared permanent, even as declared by law commission of India that the probation period should not be more than two years. However, in Jammu and Kashmir it is a undoubtedly injustice for the qualified youth. Moreover, appointee is also not eligible for transfer in the period of five years.
Ashok further added that a person appointed under SRO-202 should be entitled to benefits like annual increment, dearness allowance, house rent allowances and city compensatory allowances after completion of their five years service on the consolidated salaries of merely Rs 7000 to 8000 only. It is again a great injustice to the young qualified who have completed the entire recruitment processes after passing written test and interviews through recruitment agency. He said such a ruthless government policy against the youth of Jammu and Kashmir is completely inadequate and must be revoked. Kumar said after the abrogation of 370 article in Jammu and Kashmir, SRO-202 now seems meaningless. SRO-202 has become illegal as per the doctrine of constitution of India. Moreover, Supreme Court judgement of equal pay for equal work has become incoherent in this context as employees appointed under this are shattered and helpless now. Why not, government giving them equal pay? It is a great injustice to the young generation who are the future of our country.
Ashok Kumar has urged upon the Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Girish Chander Murmu that the revocation of the Sro-202 should be done without any delay and vacancies for different posts should also be announced on priority basis as there is a rapid increase of unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir. Newly appointed employees cannot survive and sustain livelihood due to rising prices day by day. It is better to revoke the Sro-202 and provide justice to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
