Govt order on weight of school bags is far away from realities: AAP
4/17/2020 12:03:00 AM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 16: In reference to section 29 of the Jammu & Kashmir School Education Act, 2002, an order on weight of school bags was issued by Principal Secretary of JK-UT administration which is good but as usual, far away from the ground realities, expressed by Aam Aadmi Party here today at Jammu. It is quite amazing rather suspicious on the part of our bureaucratic approach that use to run its horses just in air without seriously analyzing the ground level situations, release added. On one hand, even after 72 years of independence and declaring education and health as priority sectors, ruling class of country badly failed on both the fronts, AAP alleged. The said like order was also issued sometimes back but without mentioning the detail of books but now just four subjects related books have been mentioned in the order and the same seems based on a bureaucratic approach without consulting the expert academicians, it further alleged. When we compare the things with other progressive countries, those have an adequate infrastructure related to education with them including good internet access, number of good libraries, fine quality tablets with students, good play grounds, highly safe transportation & amusement parks like facilities and above all possible efforts are being applied to promote the talent of school going children which is not the case with us with the result, childhood joys are merely limited to 5% of our child population, AAP stated.
