SPO Killing: J&K Police, Army, CRPF eliminate two HM militants in Kishtwar

Jammu, Apr 17 : Two terrorists of Hizbul Mujaheedin were eliminated on Friday in a joint operation launched by Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army and CRPF in Kishtwar district.
The terrorists four days back attacked two SPOs in which on was killed and they fled away after snatching their weapons.
On April 13, SPOs namely Pashid Iqbal was killed and SPO Vishal Singh was injured seriously when they had gone to the upper area of Tander, Dachan for patrolling.
"Acting on tip off about presence of both the militants of Hizbul Mujaheedin out, operation was launched in Tander area by the police, army and the CRPF to nab the attackers," , Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh said here.
He further said that DIG Doda and Commander RR camped at Kishtwar, SSP Kishtwar and CO RR camped at Tander and supervised the operation. The other areas were covered by Army units of Rashtriya Rifles and police party led by Addl SP Kishtwar and DSP operations.
"After meticulous search and painstaking efforts for three continuous days, the search party zeroed in behind village Saunder in a nallah," the top cop stated.
He further stated that on observing the movement of forces, the hiding terrorists fired at the search party and in the retaliatory action, both of them were eliminated.
The killed terrorists were identified as Basharat Hussain and Ashiq Hussain, both residents of village Tander, Dachhan.
One AK 74 rifle and one INSAS rifle were recovered from the killed terrorists, he revealed.
Mr Singh said that with this timely and sustained effort, an attempt to revive terror activities in the Dachan and Marwah areas of Kishtwar has been nipped.
This action of security forces is a tribute to the police martyr Pashid Iqbal, he added.
