RAJOURI, Apr 17: The leaders from Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) and other political parties have reportedly gone missing from their native district ever since the COVID -19 has spread its tentacles in Rajouri district putting people in great distress.
Sources told Early Times that at a time when government has been working hard to fight against Coronavirus and getting support of opposition parties also. Moreover the local administrations of various districts, various NGOs, religious organizations have been openly extending their help to provide essential commodities to the poor and needy in the time of COVID-19.
They further said that not only this even the youths of this district have been distributing rations to the poor of far off areas, where people have very limited source of living but legislators have not turned up to take note of their voters wellbeing. "Some youths have provided ration to more than 1000 families so far and the counting has been going on. Although the poor admitted that they have been getting required relief in this tough time but they expressed their anger against the local politicians, who won their elections with the help of their votes, have now gone missing at this testing time, when people particularly their voters need them the most," they alleged.
They further informed that no former legislator has approached to them to enquire about their wellbeing during COVID-19 pandemic. "It seems that these so called leaders, former legislators have kept themselves in self-quarantine and had forgotten their tall claims of helping their voters during any suffering. Now we have been thinking to visit the residences of these leaders and will extend help to them, who have literally forgotten their duties," they alleged further adding that when it comes to votes, they visit door to door to seek their support. If they are unable to provide us help at least they should give a courtesy call. "Now we will have to paste their missing posters to recall them their tall promises at the time of elections," they said.
