Anantnag: 56 Contacts of COVID-19 Positive Case traced, quarantined

ANANTNAG, Apr 17: In Anantnag, the authorities have traced around fifty-six (56) contacts of COVID-19 Positive Case and shifted them to a separate quarantine center.
A 41 years old man from Nowgam village of Shnagus Anantnag had tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday (14th of April 2020). As per the reports, the administration swung into action and started tracing his contacts as the person, who tested Positive COVID-19, had violated the rules of home quarantine.
Locals are alleging that the person who tested for COVID-19 violated norms of home quarantine and visited several places. "We informed the health department officials about his behavior and movements but the department didn't take any action," residents alleged.
Divisional Forest Officer Anantnag, Feroz Ahmad Chatak, who is the Nodal Officer for Red Zone area, told Early Times that 56 contacts of COVID-19 Positive Case have been traced and shifted to quarantine facility.
He said that they have so far screened 1983 residents besides spraying disinfects. "We have also provided immune booster medicines to the residents during screening," he said, adding residents are also being provided essential supplies.
Chief Medical Officer Anantnag said all the contacts of COVID-19 positive case have been shifted to Government Degree College Anantnag. "We have taken samples of 41 people and sent them for testing. Samples of remaining individuals will be taken on tomorrow," he added.
