Jammu region witnesses new lease of discrimination post Art 370 abrogation: Harsh
5/7/2020 10:37:09 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, May 7: Accusing the BJP led govt. of doling out most discriminatory treatment to Jammu region even after abrogation of Article 370, Harsh Dev Singh, JKNPP-Chairman & former Minister today said that never before was Jammu and its youth treated so shabbily by any previous dispensation in the erstwhile State of J&K.
”While there are no takers for the concerns of the educated youth of Jammu region, the common man, the civil society and the employees class too was bearing the brunt of highly apathetic approach of the UT administration at behest of their New Delhi masters. The unemployed, under employed, the contractuals and other temporary class of employees of Jammu region was the worst affected section with no attention whatsoever being paid by the present regime to address their bonafide concerns,” said Harsh.
He said the health employees of Jammu region appointed under SRO-24 have been arbitrarily terminated while allowing their Kashmir counterparts to continue in service. He said the ousted youth of Jammu region languishing on the roads provided the most glaring example of regional bias perpetuated wby the present regime which made tall promises of ending all regional bias and compensating Dogra land for all its neglect and deprivation in the previous regimes.
“Not only the disengagement of Jammu youth of the H&ME Department, but the cancellation of J&K Bank selections provided yet another glaring example of bias perpetrated against Jammu youth in the narcissistically self flagellated BJP regime. Cancelling a select list prepared by the most reputed recruitment agency of the country only for the reason that Jammu region youth had outshined in the said selections had sent shock waves amongst even the hardcore supporters of BJP who are feeling let down and betrayed,” said Harsh.
Pointing towards the neglect of Jammu region farmers post Reorganization, Singh said that while their repeated requests of compensation for crop losses had been overlooked, the centre announced several packages under Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) for procuring apples, walnuts and saffron of Valley besides fixing MSP for the produce of their agriculturalists and orchardists.
In the meanwhile, Gandhi Nagar Police thwarted the attempt of NPP Chairman to torch the effigy of BJP govt. and J-K Administration and snatched it away while it was being torched. Harsh Dev was later place under confinement with even media disallowed to meet him.
