DDC Doda dedicates Refrigerated Van to farmers

DODA, May 12: District Development Commissioner, Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode today dedicated one fully air conditioned refrigerated van to the farmers of the district.
While speaking on the occasion, the DDC extended warm regards to the Principal Secretary, Agriculture Production Department, Navin Kumar Choudhary for sending this refrigerator van for the progressive farmers of the district. The DDC informed that various areas of the district are mainly known for high production of Vegetables and Fruits. In order to ensure the transportation of the local produce to the respective mandis (procurement centres) in a preserved form, this refrigerator van will play a pivotal role.
The DDC also informed that the refrigerator van is having huge capacity and around 90 quintal can be carried and transported at a time in mint fresh condition . He also said that the Refrigerated Van will be utilized to carry the perishable agricultural produce of the farmers to markets / mandis adding that soon a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in this regard will be signed with FPOs/ FIGs/CIGs under PPP Mode. “This Refrigerated Van will facilitate the distant marketing of vegetables and other agriculture products without deterioration of their quality,” DDC added. ADC Doda Kishori Lal Sharma, ACR Doda, Kaiser Ahmed Bhawani, Chief Agriculture Officer Shahid Iqbal besides other officials of agriculture department were present on the occasion.
