10 fresh positive cases in Kupwara, 209 COVID-19 recovered till date in North Kashmir

KUPWARA, May 12: Ten positive cases were reported in this district today while as there was no positive case from Baramulla and Bandipora districts with 14 patients recovering. As on date 209 people have recovered in North Kashmir.
Uri Sub Division in Baramulla district is Corona virus free now as according to sources last positive case of Covid-19 from Isham village of Uri Sub Division that has recovered and has been discharged from Government Medical College (GMC) Baramulla.
While as many samples for Covid-19 tested from JNV Shahkote are negative, and with this the people of Uri area have taken a sigh of relief, and are very happy over the role of district administration and the health, municipal and police officials that have really put their efforts to contain the spread of Covid-19 from the entire Uri sub division.
Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg said that 10 more positives reported today from Gonipora are all contacts of earlier positive cases and a result of aggressive testing to cover all possible contacts.
“Being shifted to COVID Hospital for isolation, no cases from any of the other Red Zones of the district for 14 days now”, said DC Kupwara.
Meanwhile acting tough against the lockdown violators, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Baramulla Mohammad Rafiq Lone today seized 10 vehicles for violating prohibitory orders regarding COVID-19.
These vehicles were seized by the ACR during inspection to the National Highway during which he checked the movement passes and found 10 vehicles plying on roads without valid movement passes. The ACR warned the lockdown violators of strict legal action besides appealing people to cooperate with the administration.
He urged to follow all the requisite advisories issued with the purpose to control the spread of infection.
