5/12/2020 9:27:17 PM

Early Times Report

JAMMU, May 12: Federation of Industries Jammu (FOIJ) has appealed Lt. Governor G C Murmu to save industrial sector of J&K and requested him to provide immediate financial support to the ailing industrial sector of J&K that is suffering very badly due to lockdown. Lalit Mahajan, Chairman FOIJ has drawn the attention towards the plight of industrial units of J & K working as per the permission granted by the Industries Department with 1/3 deployment of work force, depending on the sale of their products within J&K. He said the sector is suffering very badly since 25th March 2020 due to lockdown resulting sharp decline in the sales turnover since last 50 days due to which the Unit Holders are not in a position to pay the Salary/Wages for the Month of April 2020, Bank Interest, Power dues and other related Govt. dues.
Mahajan lamented that till date no relief is provided to the industrial sector of J & K resulting into uncertainty in the mind of the Unit Holders and that they fear that the Unit Holders have no option but to close down their Units resulting mass scale retrenchment of the Workforce and the major sufferer are the Sons of the Soil who are working since last 30 years facing Militancy and other related issues.
Mahajan requested the LG that keeping in mind the present situation to grant a relief package to the industrial sector of Jammu & Kashmir.
