J&K’s Taekwondo Athletes participated in Online Taekwondo Poomsae championships

JAMMU, May 12: Taekwondo Athletes from J&K participated in the 1st Daedo International Online Taekwondo Poomsae Championships, which was organized by World Taekwondo Europe, WTE affiliated to World Taekwondo, WT. This was for the first time in the history of Taekwondo that such an event was organized. More than 1200 players from around 75 countries all over the world participated in the said championship and showcased their talent by performing at home during this pandemic situation when whole world is suffering with Covid-19.
Players from J&K who participated included Sanvi Sharma (Jammu), Kushagra Sharma (Jammu), Achutam Dev Singh (Jammu), Bhanu Pratap Atri (Jammu), Shenaz Parveen (Kargil), Abbas Khursheed (Srinagar), Danish Manzoor (Baramulla), Burhan Din Khan (Doda), Hashim Majeed (Srinagar),and Fayaz Ahmad (Bandipora)represented the country.
Kushagra Sharma, Danish Manzoor, Sanvi Sharma and Shenaz Parveen made into top 20 and 30 list all over the world in their respected divisions.
All these athletes were trained and prepared by Master Atul Pangotra for the said championships through online coaching seminars.
The main aim of the event was the promotion of Taekwondo Poomsae which is an important part of Taekwondo Sport and to keep the athletes motivited to train in these tough times of the lockdown.
