Nation mourns martyrs’ sacrifice, United Kathua celebrates birthday of police official
6/20/2020 12:23:40 AM

EARLY TIMES REPORT

JAMMU, June 19: At a time when the entire nation is mourning the supreme sacrifice made by over 20 Army soldiers in the line of duty during Indo-China violent stand-off in Galwan valley, few people have no word of sympathy for these noble souls and on Friday celebrated the birthday of a senior police official at Kathua.
The nation is still in mourning and the Union government has recently conducted the All Party meeting, while the entire country is in grief and sharing sympathies with the families of martyrs, some people are still in celebration mood.
On Friday afternoon, the members of an organization named as United Kathua Jammu and Kashmir Police celebrated the birthday of a senior police official in a function organized outside the office of Deputy Commissioner Kathua. The organization was recently formed under the directions of senior official of Police force in district Kathua during the fight against the Corona-virus.
A birthday cake was arranged while “laddus” were also distributed among the commuters to mark the occasion. As per the videos circulated on social media sites in which the members had also called the media-persons to publicise the celebration of event, the members could be seen delighted and showered praises over the efforts of senior official during the fight against COVID-19.
Even the members made a video call to the senior official, to inform him about the birthday celebration activity, organized by them in front of DC’s office. “Organizing such birthday functions during the peaceful days can be a normal event but during organizing such events at a time when the Nation is mourning the brutal killings of 20 Army soldiers is seemed totally bizarre”, an official said, adding that if the members of these organization claimed to be social workers, then they must be aware that it was only due to the contribution of Army soldiers that they were able to stay safe and organize any social activities.
Even during the whole event, not a single word was spoken for the supreme sacrifice made by the soldiers.
