With 213 fresh cases positive cases of COVID-19 reach 6,762 in JK
Active cases 2591, recovered 4080, deaths 91

SRINAGAR, June 26: The number of positive cases of Corona Virus in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 6,762 as 213 fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported today. Out of these cases 2,591 are active positive while as 4,080 have recovered.
Reports said that Baramulla reported 63 fresh cases followed by Udhampur 40 cases, Pulwama 23 cases, Shopian 18 cases, Kupwara 17 cases, Budgam 11 cases, Srinagar 10 cases, Kulgam and Rajouri seven cases each, Anantnag and Kathua five cases each, Reasi three cases, Poonch two cases, Bandipora and Samba one case each.
The Jammu & Kashmir government through the media bulletin informed that 213 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 58 from Jammu division and 155 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 6,762.
Moreover, 113 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 35 from Jammu Division and 78 from Kashmir Division. Out of 6,762 positive cases, 2,591 are active positive, 4080 have recovered and 91 have died; 11 in Jammu division and 80 in Kashmir division.
The bulletin said that out of 3, 38,903 test results available, 3, 32,141 samples have tested as negative till date. Additionally, till date 2, 71,009 travelers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for surveillance which included 39,303 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 31 in hospital quarantine, 2,591 in hospital isolation and 47,673 under home surveillance. Besides, 1, 81,320 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 795 positive cases, 539 active positive, 234 recovered, 22 deaths; Kulgam has 751 positive cases, 246 active positive, 494 recoveries, 11 deaths; Baramulla has 748 positive cases, 375 active positive, 359 recovered, 14 deaths; Shopian has 704 positive cases, 176 active positive, 518 recovered, 10 deaths; Anantnag district has 627 positive cases, 165 active positive, 456 recovered, six deaths.
“Kupwara has 508 positive cases, 134 active positive, 369 recovered, five deaths; Pulwama has 409 positive cases, 233 active positive, 172 recovered, four deaths; Budgam has 358 positive cases, 165 active positive, 186 recovered, seven deaths; Bandipora has 284 positive cases, 45 active positive, 238 recovered, one death and Ganderbal has 82 positive cases, 20 active positive, 62 recoveries,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 322 positive cases, 60 active positive, 255 recovered, seven deaths; Udhampur has 257 positive cases, 96 active positive, 160 recovered, one death; Ramban has 213 positive cases, 59 active positive, 154 recovered; Kathua has 211 positive cases, 83 active positive, 128 recovered; Samba has 135 positive cases, 66 active positive, 69 recovered.
“Poonch has 120 positive cases, 26 active positive, 93 recovered, one death; Rajouri has 101 positive cases, 63 active positive, 37 recovered, one death; Doda has 72 positive cases, 17 active positive, 54 recovered, one death; Reasi has 40 positive cases, 14 active positive, 26 recovered and Kishtwar has 25 positive cases, nine active positive, 16 recovered,” reads the bulletin. Out of 6,762 positive cases, 2179 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least 2 metres from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
