EARLY TIMES REPORT

SAMBA, June 26: A poor man who was assaulted few days back by his neighbour over land dispute today alleged police inaction against the ‘attackers’.
Addressing media persons here today, Roop Lal son of Budhi Ram said that he had filed a written complaint at Vijaypur Police Station against the attackers, who assaulted him and his family on June 1 in Suchani village of Vijaypur area.
“Rajendra Singh’s son Dhanter Singh, along with the family, entered my house and mercilessly beaten me and my family. I was seriously injured that day, but the police have not taken any action on the allegations. I met SSP Samba for justice and apprised him about the entire episode”, he said, adding that he wants justice.
He said that on that day my nephew took me to the hospital in an injured condition. “On the contrary, the police also registered his name”, he said, adding that his leg was broken in this fight but instead of getting strict action against the police accused, the attackers are roaming free after bail, as Police remained inactive towards the accused persons.
However, Vijaypur SDPO Lavakarna said that the police are conducting its investigation and the each person involved in the case is being questioned. “Police have registered a case under section 147/323/504 agaisnt the accused, as if any new thing comes up, the police will also take strict action on it”, the SDPO said, adding that the police would go to the bottom of this case.
Meanwhile, SSP Samba said that the police has been conducting probe into the case, adding that since it was a land dispute case, the revenue department has been asked to assist the police. “Further action will be taken on the basis of revenue report”, he added.
