Rajouri, July 23: The PRI members of Panchayat Saranoo of district Rajouri have criticized the district administration for poor arrangements in the quarantine center, which have posed a serious threat to the patients.
Sources told Early Times that PRIs members including Sarpanch Saranoo Arti Sharma and other panches held a meeting and expressed displeasure over the mismanagement in COVID care centre, where COVID patients from this area have been lodged for treatment but the center has been grappling with number of issues related to insanitation, poor diet etc.
They alleged that for concerned authority, the four positive cases, which were reported recently, are just numbers but the way they are being treated is the cause of concern for them. All members in one voice decided to convert Panchayat Ghar Saranoo into a quarantine center and said that it will be maintained by the panchayat itself. “All arrangements regarding proper diet and sanitation will be taken care of by the Panchayat. The patients will feel like home in this quarantine center,” the PRI members said.
The members said that all expenses will be borne by the members from contribution and patients will be provided with good diet and other things. “Administration needs not to worry about anything,” they said. Sources informed that a cleanliness drive has been conducted near Panchayat Ghar in this connection.
The members expressed their concern after several viral videos of poor arrangements in the quarantine center went viral, which prompted them to take this step. “We saw in some videos that a dog was roaming in a quarantine center in Sunderbani and garbage was littered in and around the premises,” they said.
Although when Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mohd Sheikh Nazeer was contacted, he said that all allegations regarding poor arrangements in the quarantine center are baseless. “All facilities are being provided to the patients as per SOPs. The viral videos are also being securitized as these videos are being circulated with malicious intentions to malign the image of administration,” he said.
