DSEJ, SIE Jammu turn ‘rehabilitation centres’ for influential teaching staff

Early Times Report

Jammu, Jul y 23: Apart from 27 teaching staff members attached at Director School Education Jammu (DSEJ), there are many similar cases of attachments of lecturers, teachers and even Rehbar-e-Taleem teachers in the department.
The teaching staff has been making all round efforts to continue with their attachments at the offices rather than working at the schools, where they were posted and to do the work, for which they were recruited, sources told Early Times.
Pertinently, the Administrative division of School Education department had forwarded a list of 27 teaching faculty members, who have been attached with DSEJ and had directed for their detachment.
Moreover, apart from that list of 27 teachers, the list of attachments is long and State Institute of Education (SIE), which is housed few yards away from DSEJ office Jammu, is also the preferred spot for attachments.
In the list of lecturers or incharge-lecturers attached in the office of DSEJ, one of them has been attached in the office of DSEJ for the past over 10 years, sources said, adding that he had been detached from the office, time and again but he managed attachments at DSEJ through his links in the administration.
Another lecturer is president of a Forum of Lecturers, who has been enjoying attachment at State Institute of Education (SIE) for the last over 4 years. “He had done some training in NCERT and has been enjoying attachment since long,” sources said, adding that he has been using the influence of his Forum to manage his stay in the SIE office and do some other works of fraternity in the DSEJ office.
Sources further said that another lecturer has been enjoying attachment at SIE. “Since long, he has been looking after the printing process in the SIE Jammu”, sources said, adding that in the SIE Jammu, the printing process involves over Rs. 1-2 Crores orders annually.
Another teacher, whose actual year of appointment was in year 2016 and was posted somewhere in a school in Akhnoor has remained attached with DSEJ. “He didn’t serve in the actual place of his posting at Akhnoor school but got an order for drawl of his salary from March Zone High School”, sources said.
Sources further said that another one is a newly promoted lecturer, who has not got adjustment in the DIET Samba but remained attached in the DSEJ office for the last many years. Despite his adjustment in the DIET Samba, he is still enjoying attachment at DSEJ, sources said. “Another attachment is of a Master, who is attached with a Teachers Forum and has been doing work for the Forum for the last many years”, sources said, adding that another person is a Rehbar-e-Taleem teacher, whose actual place of posting is in Bhambla but he has managed his attachment at DSEJ. “His attachment is an inter-district attachment of a Rehbar-e-Taleem teacher. It is despite the fact that there are over five thousands teachers working in Jammu district along but a Rehbar-e-Taleem teacher from another district has been attached to DSEJ office for the reasons best known to the authorities concerned”, sources said, adding that the RET teacher has managed his transfer through his links in one organization of the teachers.
“The administrative wing of the School Education department should take action against these attached lecturers and other teaching faculty members and send them to their actual place of postings without any further delay,” sources added.
Director School Education Anuradha Gupta didn't pick up the phone for her comments.
