Early Times Report

Jammu, July 23: Although BJP has announced to celebrate ‘first anniversary’ of abrogation of Article 370 and Article 35-A in a big way, party leaders finding it difficult to mobile support of people due to prevailing anger against incompetent and non-serious local leadership of the party. Credible sources said that party leadership, who have approached locals for the one-year celebrations of abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A have not received good response from the people. “People are asking questions about false promises of BJP leaders on uprooting toll plazas”, sources in the party said and revealed that common people in Jammu were against non-serious leaders of J&K BJP who have failed to come up-to the expectations of the people.
On the condition of anonymity, a senior leader said that it was difficult to pacify angry residents because there was a feeling among strong supporters of BJP that the Jammu leaders betrayed the people on many issues.
As reported in a section of the media BJP was planning to celebrate abrogation of Article 370 and 35-A in a big-way.
The 15-day celebrations will be held from August 5 to 20 and during this period the party will organise various programmes across the UTs of J&K and Ladakh.
On Wednesday, a meeting of senior leaders was held in which the party decided to rope in people who were benefited by the abrogation of Article 370, especially Valmikis, Gorkhas and West Pakistani refugees.
The party has also decided that tricolour would be hoisted on every roof-top of Jammu province.
Speaking on the occasion, party general secretary (organization) Ashok Koul had impressed upon all the BJP leaders to ensure that the ‘pakhwara’ would be celebrated like a festival in every nook and corner of the region. He discussed various programmes to be conducted during the whole ‘pakhwara’.
