| DDC Rajouri reviews MGNREGA Job card verification | | | Early Times Report
RAJOURI, Sept 2: District Administration Rajouri has started a massive exercise for verification of MGNREGA job Card holders across the District to facilitate registered workers to apply for work.
Development Commissioner, Mohammad Nazir today chaired a meeting of RDD officers review the status of job card verification and issues related to delay in payment of MGNREGA wages.
The meeting was attended by District Statistical and Evaluation Officer, Bilal Rashid Mir, Block Development Officers, MIS Operators and Village Level workers of all the Blocks.
The DDC sought a detailed report from the concerned officers regarding the status of job card verification and issues hampering the MGNREGA payments in their respective Blocks.
The DDC stressed on the need for the accurate job card verification and said that the job cards legally empower the registered households to apply for work, ensures transparency and protect workers against fraud. He asked the concerned officers to complete the process of verification of job cards in the areas of their respective jurisdiction within shortest possible time. He directed them to ensure the timely payment of wages to the workers for the MGNREGA works executed in their blocks.
The DDC also directed the BDOs to involve field functionaries and PRIs at grassroots level and redouble their efforts in achieving the targets.
He asked the concerned officers to accelerate the pace of works in their respective areas and stressed on adoption of more innovative methods for effective implementation of the schemes. |
