RAMBAN, Oct 3: The Day 2 of ‘Back to Village’ phase three was today started on a high note with immense public support and participation at Panchayat Kaskoot.
Chief Executive Officer, Economic Reconstruction Agency, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, who is Visiting Officer for Panchayat Kaskoot Banihal, participated in a local gram sabha held there which was also attended by all PRI members and general public. Dr. Abid highlighted the importance and role of Gram Sabhas saying that this gives an appropriate platform to all stakeholders share their views and experiences regarding growth and development of their respective areas. The Visiting Officer inaugurated roads at Naikpora and Forwagan wards of the Panchayat besides inspecting work on approach road to Ziyarat sharif Chanapora from main road. He also inaugurated a volleyball tournament besides distributing sports kits and other sports equipments among the students including girls.
Dr Abid emphasized the importance of sports in leading a healthy and prosperous life and urged upon youth to make sports an essential part of their lifestyle so as to have an all round personality development.
He sought people’s cooperation and complete participation for effective implementation of development activities in their respective areas. He called upon the people to avail maximum benefit of schemes of different departments for their socio economic progress. He said that the Government has launched various centrally and UT sponsored flagship schemes for the welfare of the general public.
He directed the concerned departments for immediate resolution and noted demands to be taken up with the concerned authorities. He said that government is committed to empower the PRIs for resolution of the local issues.
Emphasizing the significance of women empowerment in holistic development of the society, Dr. Abid stressed on education of the girl child enabling them play a participatory role in society’s growth and development.
While reviewing functioning of ICDS and other departments, Dr Abid stressed upon the officers to redouble their efforts for achievement of optimum results on ground.
The second day of B2V3 was marked with an exhaustive visit to a very remote Alindar hamlet of the panchayat located atop a mountain which is inhabited by ST population. A public hearing was conducted with the locals where their issues were heard and redressed.
