SRINAGAR, Oct 3: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 78.42 percent after 1,399 virus affected patients were discharged today from different hospitals. The number of positive cases reached 78,228 with 975 fresh cases with death toll reaching 1,231following 19 new deaths.
Jammu district reported 403 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Srinagar district 150 cases, Kupwara district 52 cases, Budgam district 43 cases, Pulwama and Udhampur districts 39 cases each, Baramulla and Poonch districts 32 cases each, Samba district 30 cases, Rajouri district 29 cases, Anantnag district 28 cases, Bandipora district 22 cases, Kathua district 19 cases, Reasi district 13 cases, Ganderbal and Doda districts 11 cases each, Kishtwar district nine cases, Ramban district six cases, Kulgam district five cases and Shopian district two cases.
Jammu and Srinagar districts reported four deaths each followed by Rajouri district three deaths, Kishtwar district two deaths and a death each in Budgam, Pulwama, Bandipora, Kupwara, Kathua & Doda districts. So far 855 COVID-19 patients have died in Kashmir valley with the number of such deaths in Jammu division being 376.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 975 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 591 from Jammu division and 384 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 78,228. Also 19 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 11 from Jammu division and eight from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 1,399 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 848 from Jammu Division and 551 from Kashmir Division. Out of 78,228 positive cases, 15,646 are active positive, 61,351 have recovered and 1,231 have died; 376 in Jammu division and 855 in Kashmir division.
Out of 16, 85,809 test results available, 16, 07,581 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 5, 89,383 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 21,523 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 15,646 in isolation and 48,922 under home surveillance. Besides, 5, 02,061 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 15,376 positive cases, 1,978 active positive, 13,099 recovered, 299 deaths; Budgam has 5,023 positive cases, 824 active positive, 4,113 recovered, 86 deaths; Baramulla has 4,523 positive cases, 1,392 active positive, 3,007 recovered, 124 deaths; Pulwama has 4,035 positive cases, 404 active positive, 3,561 recovered, 70 deaths; Kupwara has 3,717 positive cases, 746 active positive, 2,903 recovered, 68 deaths.
“Anantnag has 3,595 positive cases, 462 active positive, 3,067 recovered, 66 deaths; Bandipora has 3,514 positive cases, 416 active positive, 3,060 recovered, 38 deaths; Ganderbal has 2,957 positive cases, 278 active positive, 2650 recovered, 29 deaths; Kulgam has 2,290 positive cases, 110 active positive, 2,137 recovered, 43 deaths and Shopian has 2,041 positive cases, 151 active positive, 1,858 recovered, 32 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 14,262 positive cases, 3,597 active positive, 10,465 recovered, 200 deaths; Rajouri has 2,754 positive cases, 753 active positive, 1,966 recovered, 35 deaths; Udhampur has 2,342 positive cases, 451 active positive, 1,871 recovered, 20 deaths; Doda has 2,271 positive cases, 921 active positive, 1,317 recovered, 33 deaths; Kathua has 2,119 positive cases, 394 active positive, 1,700 recovered, 25 deaths.
“Poonch has 1,842 positive cases, 925 active positive, 901 recovered, 16 deaths; Samba has 1,832 positive cases, 675 active positive, 1135 recovered, 22 deaths; Ramban has 1,388 positive cases, 241 active positive, 1,137 recovered, 10 deaths; Kishtwar has 1,324 positive cases, 596 active positive, 719 recovered, nine deaths and Reasi has 1,023 positive cases, 332 active positive, 685 recovered, six deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 78,228 positive cases in J&K, 8,894 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
