Early Times Report

JAMMU, Oct 3: “Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led Union government at the Centre is building massive infrastructures in India to connect people of the nation across its length and breadth and today’s inauguration of Atal Tunnel by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Manali is a big achievement of government that is aimed at promoting tourism, giving strategic link to defence forces and also helping people of Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh quality life throughout the year.” This was stated by BJP Executive Member J&K, Raman Suri, who said that unlike past, massive projects of strategic importance are being built, commissioned and dedicated to the nation by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in record time. He said that this Atal tunnel, after Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Tunnel in J&K, is another milestone achieved by the Union Government which has connected mountainous region of J&K, Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh very strategically. Raman Suri said that this tunnel will connect a circuit which will prove to be a boon for even Jammu and Kashmir’s tourism and economy. He said, adventure tourists, most of the time, prefer to drive from either J&K and cross over Himalayas to reach Himachal Pradesh or vice versa. In any way, Jammu and Kashmir will highly gain due to this tunnel. Describing the tunnel as an engineering marvel, Raman Suri said, it has been constructed using drill and blast NATM (New Austrian Tunneling Method) techniques and is 9.02 km long that connects Manali to Lahaul-Spiti valley throughout the year and reduces the road distance by 46 km between Manali and Leh. Raman Suri said that BJP has proved that its programmes and policies are aimed at giving the nation a strong infrastructure and to listen the voice of its people in most effective manner. Raman Suri said, never in the history, a nation has seen such prompt and able administration that adheres to its promises and completes projects in record time span. This is a trend that has been set by BJP led Union Government to give people an able government that is transparent and accountable to them.
