Jammu, Oct 3: NSS Unit in Collaboration with Red Ribbon Club and Department of History of GDC Paloura (Mishriwala) under the Patronship of Prof. Ramneek Kaur, Principal GDC Paloura organised Intercollege Online Essay Writing and Quiz Competition on 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi on the themes Mahatma Gandhi: His Life and Principles and Gandhiji’s Role in Indian National Movement (1917-1947)
The event was co-ordinated by NSS Programme Officer Dr. Sanjay Kapoor, Prof. Vishal Magotra, Prof. Anita Jamwal and Prof. Sanjay Kotwal under the convenorship of Prof. Narayan Dutt. The Aim of organising such event was to make students aware of Gandhiji’s Life, Principles, Philosophy of Education and His Role in Indian National Movement. Students from various colleges of J&K (UT) participated in the Online Essay Writing and Quiz Competition. The Adjudicators of Essay Writing Competition were Prof. Geetanjali Multani, Associate professor English, GCW Gandhi Nagar and Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, Assistant Professor English, GCOE, Jammu. In essay writing competition Fatima Nori of GCW Gandhi Nagar and Randhir Sen Of GDC Paloura bagged the first prize; Sujata Rani of GCW Gandhi Nagar, secured the second position; Zaheen Shokat of GCW Gandhi Nagar Clinched the third prize. In the Quiz Competition the first position was secured by Miss Stuti Mahajan of GCW Gandhi Nagar while the second position was shared by Ishtha Singh of Jammu University and Mr. Manik Kumar of GCET Jammu and third by Miss Zaheen Shokat of GCW Gandhi Nagar. E-Certificates were awarded to the winners. Prof. Ramneek Kaur, Principal of the college appreciated the efforts of NSS Unit, members of Red Ribbon Club and faculty of History Department for organising such an event on digital platform. She also thanked the adjudicators of the competition for sparing their valuable time.
