DSEJ, Jnana Prabodhini Organise Webinar on Understanding Adolescents

JAMMU, Dec 30: Counselling Cell of Directorate of school Education Jammu in collaboration with Jnana Prabodhini Samshodhan Sanstha organised a webinar entitled "Understanding Adolescents (Challenges for today's teenagers, Role of emotional health in adolescence)" where in a good deal of teachers, educators, students and parents got benefitted.
Director School Education Jammu, Anuradha Gupta, in her address said that such webinars are fruitful and the suggestions generated need to be implemented on the ground. She also urged for longer and more sustainable association with the Sanstha in the larger interest of the students, teachers and parents.
Earlier, in the beginning of the session, introduction to Jnana Prabodhini Sanstha was given by Urmilla Dixit, followed by opening remarks of Head counselling cell of DSEJ, Romesh Sharma who talked about the dynamic initiatives of guidance and counselling being achieved by DSEJ. He thanked the Sanstha for its efforts in resolving the problems being faced by people during the COVID-19 pandemic times.
Dr Devayani Bhave, a psychologist and career counsellor was the chief resource person for the session.
She presented a detailed lecture on the topic "Adolescence, its features, Challenges and Modules to Understand it", discussing the features, problems and measures to cope up with the challenges of adolescence meticulously. At the end of her discussion, she replied to the queries of participants moderated by Dr Surinder Kumar. The questions asked pertained to societal expectations from adolescents, role of parents and adults in nurturing adolescents etc.
Pertinently, the counselling Cell DSEJ has been working in close association with the Sanstha for long and has together conducted various webinars especially during Covid 19 pandemic for psychological and emotional well being of school education stakeholders.
The session was moderated by Preeti Sharma, Team member of G&C Cell DSEJ under the technical support of Sohail Wani, DRG Doda.The vote of thanks was presented by Alka Sharma.
