Early Times Report

Srinagar, Dec 30: In a shocking development, the Cluster University of Srinagar here, has allegedly lost the award sheets of students for their final exams putting them to trouble.
The CUS, which has already been in news for wrong reasons, in the latest has allegedly played with the career of its students.
The university had conducted exams for the fourth semester of their integrated course online during Covid19 lockdown while the results were declared in the month of November, 2020.
The students said the results for two subjects were not declared. Ironically, the result for the two papers has been shown as “NA” which means “not applicable.”
The students, who have been left in trouble, have been moving from pillar to post to know about the results but the officials are dilly-dallying their genuine demand.
Sources said the CUS officials have allegedly misplaced the awards sheets of the students and thus have been unable to give no answers to genuine queries of the students.
Sources said for the last two months, the CUS officials have been trying to find out an excuse to defend their misdeeds.
“How can the award sheets or to say the masks of students be misplaced from the university?
This is sheer negligence on the part of the administration,” said a senior official at the CUS on the condition of anonymity.
It is pertinent to mention that the CUS, which was established by the previous Peoples Democratic Party led government, has long been under scanner for having hired “influential” staff who has been unable to improve academic activities.
“The very establishment of the university has been on Sufarish otherwise things would not have been messy. Most of those enjoying key positions are nears and dears of those who used to be in power,” said a senior official adding that there was a need for an audit.
When contacted a senior official at the CUS said the issue of award sheets was being resolved.
Meanwhile the students have appealed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to personally look into the matter.
