Depriving J&K of democratic rights, now PDP, NC crying hoarse: Raman Suri

Early Times Report

JAMMU, Dec 30: “Those who deprived Jammu and Kashmir’s people of their democratic rights by either not holding elections or unnecessarily delaying the local body polls besides not implementing 73rd and 74th amendments of the Constitution are now crying hoarse.
Political outfits like PDP, Congress and NC never cared to decentralise powers and instead ruled the erstwhile state like monarchs, only for their personal benefits”.
This was stated by BJP J&K Executive Member Raman Suri, who said that People’s Democratic Party (PDP), by using abusive language, is showing its true colours and still not addressing people's issues.
More than political outfits, it is the independent candidates backed by common masses who have shown enthusiasm in seeing powers getting decentralised for the first time since independence.
This is the victory of commoners who pinned their faith in democracy and will now create a new leadership to address issues of their own people.
Those using words like ‘coercive measures’ or ‘intimidation’ are the ones who never gave easy access to commoners to the corridors of power and kept them at a bay.
During their successive rules, people were having no access to leaders and stayed in misery, unable to make their both ends meet.
Now that a new era has begun, people have started feeling the change that will turn tables and make them part of the decision taking institutions.
Congratulating the young and dynamic faces that swept the recently concluded DDC polls, Raman Suri said, they have given a befitting reply to these divisive forces.
He said that those, who until yesterday were calling the shots, had to join hands to fight against BJP and this is a sign that they are losing ground steadily.
It is their frustration, defeat and marginalised stature that they are resorting to such abusive language now.
