Dharmarth Trust employees’ chain hunger strike continues in J&K UT

JAMMU, Dec 30: The ongoing chain hunger strike of the employees of Dharmarth Trust in entire Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday entered third consecutive day. Despite harsh chilly weather, a large number of employees including Pujaries of all the temples under Dharmarth Trust assembled in Ranbirashwar Temple Here and raised slogans against the Dharmarth Trust management for not redressing their demands despite the protest for the last 30 days.
Address to the gathering, Working President Rajinder Shastri warned that LG administration to intervene in the matter at the earliest otherwise employees association expedite the agitation and go on long agitation.
He alleged that Dharmarth Trust management suspended five employees of the trust on the plea that these employees participated in undesirable activities and used unparliamentarily language against Chairman Trustee and trust management and malign the reputation of the trust which is incorrect, baseless, manipulated and denied by the employees vide written reply submitted on November 12, 2020.
“We shall continue our agitation till our demands will be met by the Trust members,” protesting employees asserted.
Those who sat on chain hunger strike today include Pt. Parshotam Sharma, Kundan Lal, Pt Sandeep, Pt Tilak Raj, Pt Madan, Rajni Devi, Raj Kumar, Satpal, Ram Rattan and Pt Vinod Kumar.
The employees association further decided to launch the signature campaigning to garner the support of the public in ongoing agitation.
Working President, Rajender Shastri also appealed to social, political, religious and civil organizations to come forward for the cause of preserving Dogra heritage and religious places in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir so that tourism is promoting in the UT.
Meanwhile, President Mission Statehood and Jammu West Assembly Movement, Sunil Dimple also extended the support to the employees and sat on Hunger strike.
He urged LG Manoj Sinha to meet and call the striking employees at Raj Bhawan at the earliest and resolve their demands.
