JKTMA demands DPC of teachers
12/30/2020 11:45:03 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 30: Jammu and Kashmir Teacher/Master Association (JKTMA) today demanded DPC of teachers in the monthly meeting which was attended by several teachers.
Speaking on the occasion, State president Rakesh Singh said that the pay grades of Jammu Kashmir UT teachers/master are far less as compared to other UT teachers and Lieutenant governor should personally intervene to raise the pay grades of teachers at par with other UT teachers.
Other burning issue is of DPC of teachers which is lingering in the department by lackadaisical approach by concerned higher authorities towards the issue.
"There is a dire need to introduce the new subjects and sanction corresponding Lecturer post in newly upgraded higher secondary schools and fill that posts on fast track mode by 100 percent DPC among post graduate teachers/masters so that the students in rural areas get the opportunity to study subjects of their choice near their doorsteps. If DPC of teachers is not done before March 2021 then teachers would be forced come on roads for state wide protest ."Singh added.
Forum members requested Lieutenant governor to introduce the subject of Biotechnology in 200 higher secondary schools keeping in view the aspiration of students and its potential in the global market.
"The biggest mistake done by wrong policies of government is that post of SSA head teacher ( Contractual) was filled by DPC of regular teachers and now these masters are designated as head teachers are are withdrawing their salaries from different vacant posts of Lecturers .
Singh further said that solution of this problem is to regularise all SSA head teachers post to regular/Normal master grade post and this would also increase promotion avenues for teachers to masters who are waiting for last 7 years for their promotion.
State General secretary Vivek Gupta demanded one month additional salary to all the officials for their election duty as they have performed election duty amid COVID-19 pandemic and under harsh climatic conditions in sensitive areas.
Other demands raised by forum are provide insurance cover to all teachers engaged for COVID-19 duties at par with health department, transfer of General line teachers of winter zone in January on rotation basis , regularise service of 5000 Sakshar Bharat Mission employees and also of Vocational teachers because without them vocationalisation of education as per new education policy would not be possible.
