Samoon chairs meeting to discuss construction of BOTE complexes at twin cities

JAMMU, Feb 1: Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department (SDD), Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon, today chaired a meeting with senior officers and executing agencies to discuss construction of office complexes of JK Board of Technical Education (BOTE) at Srinagar and Jammu.
The meeting was attended by Director Skill Development, Sajjad Hussian Ganie; Chief Engineer PWD (R&B) Jammu, Secretary JK BOTE, Director, Finance, Skill Development Department and other concerned officers of the department.
Principal Secretary asked the concerned authorities to make coordinated efforts for completion of these complexes within the stipulated time frame. He asked them to make construction in consonance with the functioning requirement of the Board.
He asked them to include every facility for physically challenged and elderly along with students envisaged to visit the offices.
On the occasion, a detailed presentation on proposals for construction of BOTE office complexes at Srinagar and Jammu was given by Director SDD.
It was informed in the meeting that number of stories in office of Srinagar complex, coming up at Bemina bypass Srinagar at an estimated cost is Rs 582 lakh, is (G+4) with RCC framed structure with Green concept of LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) or GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) rating. Besides, the complex office at Jammu is (G+4) being raised with an estimated cost of Rs. 531.56 lakh at Bikram Chowk.
The meeting was further informed that the entire construction site would be completed in a single phase manner within one working season.
Besides, the proposed building complexes are based on Green concepts of LEED Rating for making the complexes ‘Energy Efficient’.
