Early Times Report

Rajouri, Feb 1: The confirmation of award to a ‘blue eyed’ teacher has stirred up hornets’ nest among the teaching community of Rajouri district, which has brought the office of Chief Education Officer Rajouri under scanner. Moreover the entry of the teacher shocked the Selection Committee for the award.
Sources told Early Times that the teacher who was awarded on Republic Day celebration was not even in nomination, which were received by the five members Selection Committee set by the administration. One of the members of the selection committee informed on the condition of anonymity that they were also shocked during the announcement when the deserving candidates were ignored and even those were awarded who were not in the nomination sent by different zones.
The senior academics and members of the selection committee said if parachute candidates were to be given priority then what is the fun of framing the selection committees to judge the merit. The revelation of selection committee members vindicated that they were surprised during announcement that to whom they evaluated were ignored.
They further said that one of awardees was attached at CEO Office for so many years who got awarded in violation of the committee’s evaluation just for his sycophancy. When contacted the CEO Rajouri has claimed that people even criticized the saints now if they are targeting him, he can’t help it.
Meanwhile, ADC Rajouri Sher Singh, when contacted said that selection of teachers is the responsibility of CEO Rajouri, which is sent to district administration. As far as the selection of teacher is concerned the administration has nothing to do with it. Locals have appealed DC Rajouri and demanded inquiry over the issue and also to public the evaluation sheets submitted by the selection committee.
