Kishtwar, July 7: Authorities have beefed up security in Kishtwar District ahead of the Delimitation Commission‘s visit to the district on Thursday.
According to the details available with Early Times the decision to tighten the security was taken in wake of a grenade blast in neighbouring Doda District on Monday. Officials said that the security has been strengthened at all the entry and exit points of Kishtwar town and its adjoining areas. Senior police officials including SSP Kishtwar, ASP Kishtwar, SHO Kishtwar and others were seen on ground ensuring the full proof security cover to thwart any untoward incident.
Meanwhile, officials said that nearly 37 deputations of around 250 individuals from Doda, Ramban and Kishtwar Districts have been lined up to meet the Delimitation Commission at Dak Banglow Guest House Kishtwar. As per the program, the panel will first meet Deputy Commissioners of the three districts after which it would meet the public and political representatives. To make the visit successful and incident free, senior officials including ADDC Kishtwar, ADC Kishtwar, ACR Kishtwar, BDO Drabshallla, BDO Nagsini have been assigned the job to look after the venue, where the panel is likely to remain stationed for nearly two hours.
