KVK Reasi continues Special Swachhata campaign

JAMMU, Oct 23: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi under the administrative control of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu (SKUAST-J) conducted Special Swachhata Campaign at KVK Reasi campus.
The month long campaign commenced from October 2 and will continue up to October 31. The campaign on cleanliness derive was organized under the guidance of Director Extension SKUAST-J, Prof S K Gupta. The major objective of the campaign is to spread the message of cleanliness derive to every nook and corner of the country and involve more and more people in this national campaign so that the country can be seen as neat and clean.
Scientist & Head of KVK, Reasi, Dr. Banarsi Lal said that Swachhata campaign is a flagship programme of the Government of India to clean the vicinities so that the national drive of clean India can be made successful. He highlighted the clean and hygienic conditions required for the healthy life. He said that this campaign is India’s biggest cleanliness drive which was formally launched by Prime Minister of India Narinder Modi on October 2 2014.
Banarsi said that this noble mission will be successful only when all the citizens of the country participate in the cleanness drive. He discussed on cleanliness and hygiene and said that major objective of the mission is to eradicate open defecation. He urged the participants to aware more and more people of the district about this derive to keep their towns, villages, campuses, temples, mosques, Panchayat Ghar, schools etc. clean and green and emphasized on the cleaning of drinking water areas, toilets, crop fields etc. He said the participants that this campaign can reduce disease infestation in human beings, animals and crops. He requested the participants to disseminate this message of cleanness and hygiene to the other people of the area and suggested them to participate in this clean India campaign with full enthuse.
