JUVC Interacts with Intl. Students under ICCR fellowship Scheme

Jammu, Feb 2- Prof. Manoj K Dhar, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu interacted with the international students admitted to the university under the ICCR fellowship scheme. Under this scheme, two students from Cambodia and Nigeria have been admitted who have now physically joined the campus for offline classwork. The interaction meeting was attended by Prof. S. K. Pandita, Nodal Officer International Admissions, Prof. Sameer Gupta, Director Business School, Dr. Vijay Saigal and Dr. Bashir Ahmad Lone members of the Technical Committee for international admissions.
Prof. Dhar while welcoming the foreign students asked them to be the ambassadors of University in their countries. Prof. Dhar emphasised that National Educational Policy-2020 extensively focuses on attaining the highest global standards in the quality of higher education. The NEP reinforces the need to attract a greater number of international students and achieve the goal of “internationalisation at home” which means integrating the dimensions of the international learning environment within our higher education institutions. This policy appreciates the critical need to promote India as a “global study destination providing premium education at affordable costs thereby helping to restore its role as “Vishwa Guru”.
Prof. Dhar also highlighted that the University of Jammu is an A+ University and ranks among the top 100 universities in the country. Besides, CWUR has recently listed the University of Jammu at 1682 rank among the top 2000 global universities. Besides, the University of Jammu has been invited to join the e-VBAB Network Project as a Partner University. The e-Vidya Bharti and Arogya Bharti (e-VBAB) Network Project of Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India is technological up-gradation of Pan-Africa e- Network Project of Govt. of India and is offering Tele-education and Tele-medicine services to partner African countries.
Earlier, Prof. Pandita detailed the steps taken for making the stay of the international students comfortable. The international students while interacting thanked the Vice-Chancellor and the university administration for their comfortable stay and friendly atmosphere on the campus.
