Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 2: Chairperson of District Development Council Ramban Dr Shamshada Shah has expressed dismay over administration not paying any attention towards the protest of DDC chairperson Kishtwar, Puja Thakur. Addressing a news conference Dr Shah said, ‘It’s unfortunate that despite the demand of DDC chairperson staging protest for a reasonable cause, administration is not paying any attention towards her. She is being supported by all the DDC members, Panches, Sarpanches and BDC members. I urge all the DDC chairpersons to come forward and support Puja.”
She said that demands being raised by the DDC chairperson about providing employment opportunities in the projects being run by the outside companies in Kishtwar are genuine.
“When these projects were established in the hilly region locals were promised that they would be given equal opportunities but these promises have proved to be hoax,” she added.
Shah said that if the administration keeps on ignoring the demands being raised by Puja Thakur, the DDC and BDC members will be forced to hit the streets and stage protests.
