GZSMD College Reasi organizes workshop on NTCP

REASI, Feb 2: General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree (GZSMD) College, Reasi in collaboration with District Health Society, Reasi organized a workshop on National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) to create awareness among the college students about the harmful effects of tobacco use under NTCP programme.
In total 8 students participated in presenting paper to create awareness among students. Dr. Prem Singh, Dr. Anu Sharma and Dr. Usha Kiran judged the whole event. On the basis of their judgement Divya Rani got 1st, Priya Lakhnotra 2nd and Shenaj Bano 3rd prize.
In the programme, Dr. Usha Kiran presented detail report on the ill effect of use of tobacco. She also showed the data which states that India is 2nd largest consumption country in the world, which is alarming situation.
Dr. Rajeev Sharma (CMO, Reasi) also laid stress on prevent and control on tobacco. He also stressed and committed to do such type of awareness programmes in future.
Dr. Chander Shekhar (Principal, GDC Reasi) while speaking on the occasion also made aware the students about impact of smoking and tobacco use on health of the nation and on individuals. He stressed students not to use any type of tobacco which leads to causes of dangerous diseases. He congratulates NSS Programme Officer for organizing programme in a short span of time and also all the students who presented well contented paper.
Jogesh Raina presented vote of thanks and congratulated all the winners.
More than 50 students have attended the event while following SOP/Guidelines for Health and Safety Protocol. The whole event was organized by Prof. Bishan Dass, NSS Programme Officer.
