| Delegation meets DC, demands to keep Pargwal with Chhamb assembly | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 23: An all-party delegation of Pargwal area met with DC Jammu Anshul Garg to demand keeping the border area Pargwal along with Chhamb assembly constituency. The members also submitted a memorandum of demands to the DC.National Joint Coordinator Kisan Congress Bharat Priye, BDC Chairperson Pargwal Nisha Devi, Sarpanch Ram Swaroop, Senior Congress leader Prabhu Singh, Sarpanch Yashpal Singh, Subhash Singh, Sarpanch Om Prakash, Sarpanch Poli Devi said that whether Chhamb assembly constituency should be kept reserved or open, but their demand is that Pargwal should be kept in this assembly constituency only. Farmer leader Bharat Priya said that there is anger among the local people after the decision to separate Pargwal area from Chhamb assembly constituency. Chhamb is a historical region and attempts have been made to isolate it against the aspirations of the people. His demand is that the government should keep Pargwal with this assembly constituency, otherwise he will not back down from agitating for his demand. After listening carefully to the views of the delegation, DC Jammu said that their demands would be looked into and taken up with the concerned departments. |
