BJP has virtually handed over J&K to a mafia to economically disempower people: Mehbooba
3/23/2022 11:22:49 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 23: Lambasting the incumbent administration of the Union Territory for allowing outsiders to economically disempower natives of this region, Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday said that the mafia is ruling the roost in Jammu and Kashmir.
“On one in the administration is ready to listen to the grievances of the people.
A mafia of outsiders is ruling the roost in Jammu and Kashmir”, Mehbooba Mufti said while addressing the one-day convention of the party here today.
She alleged that there was no government in J&K and a mafia has virtually taken control of the whole administration. “Mafia controlled by outsiders has taken over all bussiness and other economic activities in J&K”, she said.
“Anyone who dared to raise voice against anti-people policies of the present government would be dubbed as anti-national for speaking the truth”, Mehbooba Mufti said while pointing towards prevailing chaos and anarchy in the administration.
She shifted all blame on BJP for the prevailing mess in J&K. “Earlier BJP used to blame Kashmiries for discrimination with residents of Jammu now for the last four years BJP is ruling the J&K but problems of Jammu region have not solved”, she pointed out.
“To whom the BJP will blame for growing unemployment, law and order issues, and other problems in Jammu region?”, she asked.
Mehbooba Mufti, however, cautioned people against the divisive and dangerous politics of the ruling BJP. She regretted that instead of solving basic problems of the masses the BJP is brazenly indulged in creating an atmosphere of hatred and division across the country.
“Atmosphere of hate suits BJP to consolidate its vote bases. Since 2014 we are watching how the BJP is reaping political benefits of the divisive rhetoric”, Mehbooba said.
“Except hoodwinking the gullible masses by raking up emotive issues BJP has done nothing to solve basic problems of the people”, she said and pointed out every section of the society be it youth, women, working-class, weaker sections, and minorities are bearing brunt of the wrong policies of BJP.
“As day today problems of the masses are compounding due to wrong policies of the government, the BJP is shamelessly indulged into fueling the hatred across the country to divert peoples’ attention from basic issues like unemployment, inflation, etc”, PDP president said.
Blasting the BJP for inciting religious hatred and engaging in divisive politics, the former chief minister asked the people of Jammu to remain vigilant against such evil designs of BJP.
PDP president further said that J&K has been plunged into unprecedented crisis after the abrogation of Article 370 and downgrading of the erstwhile state into two Union
Territories (UTs).
“While as the whole J&K has suffered immensely on the economic front due to devastating steps taken by Centre and the J&K administration, Jammu region is the worst victim of government’s policies”, she pointed out.
“During the four years, democratic institutions have brazenly been subverted in J&K and there is no freedom of speech”, she observed and warned that policies being pursued by the Union Government would be proved disastrous of the people of J&K as every section of the society has suffered badly due to ill-advised steps taken by the government.
