Govt Hospital Sarwal fraught with mismanagement
Staffs misbehave with attendants, delayed treatment to patient in emergency

Jammu, Mar 23: The Government Hospital Sarwal has virtually turned into torture home due to its mismanagement as well as ill-treatment with attendants and undue delay in giving medical treatment to patients in emergency.
In recent case, a patient suffering from dehydration due to food poisoning when arrived by family members at Sarwal Hospital at 5 am in morning, there was no one available in the emergency as everybody was sleeping but when attendants enquired about the doctors, the staff present at that time said that come at 10 am when doctors will come.
“I requested them to administer at least a drip to my mother as she was suffering from food poisoning and was getting unconscious but the staff denied treatment and asked us to come at 10 am. I was shocked that even the doctor was not present in an emergency,” Amzi Arthur Jon, son of a patient.
The hospital was not wearing proper uniform as there was no name badge on their aprons due to which it was difficult to identify that who is doctor and who is staff, he said further adding that despite repeated request to administer drip, the staff was continuously denying the treatment but after two hours of arguments, they finally administered one drip and later some tests were done.
“It was very shocking to know that the concerned staff informed the attendants that the patient has been suffering from heart disease as per ECG report but later when ECG report was shown to some senior doctor, who said that ECG report is fine there is no such thing,” he alleged. He further said that after wasting 3-4 hours, the hospital administration referred the patient to GMC Jammu but it was again very shocking to see the condition of the ambulance due to which the drip got removed automatically.
“When we reached GMC Jammu, we decided to go for private hospital due to harassment in Sarwal hospital and we didn’t want to experience the same treatment in GMC Jammu again. When we took our mother to a private hospital, she got fine after two drips,” he added.
He demanded strong action against the staff of Sarwal Hospital and concerned administration for mismanagement.
