Jammu, Apr 6: A private driver, Samporan Singh, met with an accident three years ago but since then he has not been able to recuperate.
Singh while talking to Early Times said that soon after he met with an accident he was rushed to the Government Medical College Jammu, where doctors told him that his leg has to be amputated.
“But my wife rushed me to Amritsar for treatment. Whatever money we had we have spent on my treatment. Now, doctors are saying I need a few more surgeries.”
His wife Priya Rakwal said, “Doctors in private hospitals have told us that surgery cannot be done on Ayushman card. It can only work in the government hospitals. But the doctors at GMC Jammu have

old us that they cannot perform the surgery and it needs to be done outside.”
She said, “The private hospitals have refused to entertain the Ayushman card saying that it’s a big operation and it cannot be performed on the card. The government hospitals are refusing to perform the surgery.”
Priya urged common people to come forward and help her by providing financial help. “I need around Rs 3 lakh to get my husband operated. Please help me. The government schemes are not helping us.”
