HC grants final opportunity to FC Revenue to comply with order | Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee elections | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 18: In a contempt petition filed by Satinder Singh for initiating contempt proceedings against the respondents for not implementing the judgment of this Court 31.12.2021, whereby J&K High Court initiate the process of conducting elections to the Gurdwara Prabandhak Committees of Gurdwaras of the Union Territory, in accordance with the provisions of the Act of 1973 expeditiously. Justice Rajnesh Oswal of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court after hearing Satinder Singh and Joginder Singh in person, granted last and final opportunity to Financial Commissioner, Revenue to comply with the order, failing which, he shall remain present before the Court on the next date of hearing. When the contempt petition came-up for hearing, Justice Rajnesh Oswal observed that both the petitioner, who is present in person and S.S Nanda, learned Sr AAG submit that the needful is to be done by the Financial Commissioner, Revenue. Nanda, at this stage, submits that Shaleen Kabra, respondent No.2 in the present contempt petition is now the Financial Commissioner, Revenue, upon this Court directed to implead Shaleen Kabra as respondent and ordered that no fresh notice to newly impleaded respondent-Financial Commissioner, Revenue is required as Nanda is already appearing on his behalf. Court further granted last and final opportunity is granted to Financial Commissioner, Revenue to comply with the order, failing which, he shall remain present before the Court on the next date of hearing.
