| Babus misleading LG Sinha, alleges senior BJP leader | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 18: Former Minister and senior BJP leader Sukhnandan Choudhary on Monday alleged that bureaucrats are misleading Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
Addressing a news conference here Sukhnandan said, “The vendors who had supplied the material in 2016-2017 and 2018-2019 for various development works have not received their payment yet.”
He said, “Bureaucrats are misleading LG Sinha by saying that it’s the liability of Panchs and Sarpanchs, but the fact is that these works were approved by the officials of Rural Development Department and they should be held accountable for it.”
He said, “Poor vendors are running from pillar to post to get their payments released but no one is listening to them. People have lost faith over MGNRGEA scheme as the Rural Development Department and other executing agencies have messed it up.”
The senior BJP leader said, “Recently Irrigation and Flood Control department got the big canals cleaned and asked the RDD to get the small canals cleared but not a single small canal was cleaned as the contractors are not ready to take up the work as they don’t know whether they will be paid or not.”
He said, “The money which the Centre is releasing for the poor is not reaching them. The Central Government should take a note and pull up the officials who are messing up the development schemes.” |
