JKRTC ‘non-performers’ seek refuge in Motor Vehicles Deptt
4/19/2022 12:09:12 AM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 18: Despite being certified as non-performers, two employees of the Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC) have managed to move on deputation to the Motor Vehicles Department.
A letter No. JKRTC/GMA/PSJ/1237 dated 8/01/2022/ written by JKRTC Managing Director to the Commissioner Secretary Transport states: “Two inspectors are seeking their deputation from JKRTC to the Motor Vehicle Department. The officials have shown their non-performance in JKRTC perhaps may show their performance in Motor Vehicle Department because of their coloured intentions. Accordingly, JKRTC is weeding out such non-performers from the Corporation by deputing them to Motor Vehicle Department subject to the condition the salary of officials is borne by the Motor Vehicle Department.” Despite the JKRTC, Managing Director, certifying that the two inspectors, who have approached him to seek deputation to MVD were non-performers, these two inspectors and another inspector vide order no. 22 JK (TR) dated 12/04/2022 were sent on deputation to the Motor Vehicle Department for the period of one year.
These inspectors were directed to join at ARTO Poonch, Ramban and Anantnag vide order no.17 TC OF 2022. But on the same day a corrigendum was issued and one of the influential inspectors was directed to join ARTO Kathua instead of ARTO Anantnag.
The inspectors from JKRTC being sent on deputation to the Motor Vehicles Department has triggered resentment among the MVD employees. “It’s unfortunate that the employees declared unfit by their parent department are being absorbed in our department,” a MVD employee said.
