Power cuts during Ramadhan; vacating land & houses despite FRA shows Govt's phlegmatic attitude: Javed Rana
4/22/2022 12:02:46 AM
Early Times Report
MENDHAR, Apr 21: President Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Pirpanjal, Javed Ahmed Rana on Thursday castigated J&K Administration for its lackadaisical approach towards people's concerns and problems.
Addressing a gathering at Mendhar, the senior NC leader took the J&K Government head on over the issue of sending notices in bulk to people asking to vacate land chunks and their houses in which they are dwelling since last several decades. He said that such notices despite the existence of Forest Rights Act are totally unjustified and shows indifference of the incumbent government towards people's welfare. He said that JK Adminstration should revisit the decision henceforth and let the affected people to lead their life with dignity and pride.
On the issue of unscheduled power cuts, the senior NC leader said that it is for the first time in the history of J&K that government has failed to provide uninterrupted power supply during the sacred month of Ramadhan. He said that this is the proof of LG's government being phlegmatic towards people concerns.
"The government is not showing any inclination towards mitigating people's problems as Mughal Road is still not made functional despite arrival of summer while on the other hand the road connecting Ladakh is through for traffic", he said and demanded early restoration of traffic on Mughal road.
The former MLA pointed out that under LG's administration no one is satisfied as all sections of society are either on roads protesting for their demands or suffering while sitting at their homes and hearth. He demanded that installing a popular government after Assembly elections is the only way out to provide succor to the people being traumatized by the government being run by the bureaucrats. He said Centre should announce elections immediately to end the era of uncertainty in J&K and give people what they deserve under one of the biggest democracies in the world.
