JAMMU, Jan 17: The ongoing 3rd Chancellor's Trophy (Men & Women) Championship 2025-26, organized by the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu, successfully conducted its third day competitions at the University of Jammu campus. The championship continues to feature intense contests, high-energy performances, and enthusiastic participation from athletes across the region, reflecting the rapidly growing sporting culture.
The championship is being organized from 15th to 19th January 2026 and has attracted the participation of over 800 athletes representing various universities and institutions from the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and neighboring states. Serving as a significant platform for young sportspersons, the event provides an opportunity to showcase talent, competitive spirit, and sportsmanship across multiple disciplines.
Competitions are being held in Volleyball (Men), Kabaddi (Men), Football (Men), Wrestling (Men), Table Tennis (Men), Kho-Kho (Women), Badminton (Women), Basketball (Men & Women), Handball (Men & Women), and Athletics (Men & Women).
The entire championship is being conducted under the overall supervision of Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu. His leadership, vision, and continuous guidance have played a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth, systematic, and successful conduct of the championship. The organizing committee, in coordination with technical officials, referees, and support staff, has been working tirelessly to uphold the highest standards of discipline, fairness, transparency, and sportsmanship.
The third day witnessed several closely contested matches that drew appreciation from spectators, officials, and sports administrators alike. Athletes demonstrated exceptional skill, teamwork, and determination, making the fixtures highly competitive and engaging.
