| Indian Army organises lecture on drug abuse, narco-terrorism at Loran | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, Feb 12: The Indian Army alongside its mission to combat terrorism and secure the nation’s borders, has embarked on an initiative to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and its connection to narco-terrorism. The increasing influx of drugs via the Line of Control from Pakistan has led to a rising drug addiction problem, particularly among the youth of Poonch district. To tackle this issue, the Thundering Thirty-Nine Brigade conducted an impactful lecture on drug abuse and narco-terrorism at the Dak Bunglow in Loran. The session, which saw participation from thousands of local youth, focused on identifying the symptoms of drug addiction and ways to overcome it. The lecture also highlighted the destructive effects of drug addiction on the youth, leading them into a dark and dangerous world. Emphasis was placed on the crucial role that family and friends play in supporting individuals in their battle against addiction. The event concluded with the youth taking a solemn pledge to avoid drugs and commit to helping others who are struggling with addiction, supporting them in their recovery journey. This initiative underscores the Indian Army’s ongoing commitment to promoting a drug-free, healthy future for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. |
