EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Feb 15: As the three former chief ministers of Jammu and Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah his son Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti continue to remain under detention, new set of Kashmir centric politicians are making desperate attempts to project themselves as the viable alternative to replace the old horses. Former Finance Minister and the rebel leader of Peoples Democratic Party, Altaf Bukhari, is leading the charge. He is all set to launch his new political party. The disgruntled former PDP legislators, who were seen accompanying Bukhari in the past, have already announced that they would be joining his new party. Besides some old hands like Ghulam Hassan Mir and Hakeem Yasin, both former ministers and legislators too are likely to side with Bukhari. Early Times Report Srinagar, Feb 15: Two major political parties are scheduled to be launched in Kashmir in the coming days, the Early Times learnt from reliable sources. The sources said while one of the parties will be floated in the summer capital of Srinagar, the other one will be launched in north Kashmir. Jehangir Rashid Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Feb 15: The 2010 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) topper Shah Faesal today became the eight politician from the mainstream camp in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir to be booked under Public Safety Act (PSA). A person booked under the PSA can be detained without a trial for up to three months and same can be extended. Before Faesal, seven mainstream politicians belonging to National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have been booked under the PSA and they are at present serving detention. Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 15: Senior PDP leader Shah Mohammad Tantray has resigned from the primary membership of the party, citing his unhappiness with it over "unnecessary expulsions" of leaders for meeting Lt Governor G C Murmu here. The 64-year-old leader, who was elected to the state assembly on a PDP ticket from the Poonch-Haveli seat in 2014, said Article 370 had become a "dead stock" as a result of nearly three dozen amendments during the Congress rule.
