In Kashmir, no sympathy for Omar-Mehbooba over PSA
‘This is Karma –Tit-for Tat’
2/10/2020 11:04:49 PM
Early Times Report Srinagar, Feb 10: Even as the government has slapped the Public Safety Act (PSA) on two more former Chief Ministers, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, shattering prospects of their release in near future, the people of Kashmir look least bothered to show any sympathy towards the detained duo. While both the National Conference and the Peoples Democratic Party and some other parties including the Congress have criticized the government for slapping the PSA, there has been no support from the public quarters. Many in Kashmir have been saying that it was NC founder Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah who had framed the PSA in 1978 and that now the same law has been applied on his son and grandson alike. “He who digs a pit for others himself falls in it. Nobody has any sympathy towards these Abdullahs and Muftis, who would rule the state like dictators and had misused this law to settle personal scores,” said Showkat Ahmed. Infact, the people of Kashmir, who have access to social media websites like Facebook and Twitter have hailed the government for the decision of booki...
