BJP, RSS remain unsuccessful in dividing Coordination Committee on AIIMS for Jammu
6/2/2015 12:27:50 AM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, June 1: Frustrated by response of the common masses to the on-going stir against shifting of AIIMS to Kashmir Valley from Jammu, the "arrogant" leadership of BJP is brazenly trying to create division among constituents of Coordination Committee for AIIMS.
The Coordination Committee-an amalgam of more than 70 socio-political, business, transporters and traders organisations, is spearheading the agitation against shifting of AIIMS. The Committee is headed by young and vibrant President Jammu High Court Bar Association, Jammu, Advocate Abhinav Sharma.
The BJP leadership has reasons to create division among constituents of Coordination Committee because party's efforts to gag voice of the people through oppressive means have so far failed. The two successive successful "bandhs"- one in the month of April and second in the month May, clearly indicates that BJP's policy to misuse the official machinery to ensure opening of markers during bandh call has backfired because people have voluntarily observed shut-down to teach Saffron Party a lesson.
Now BJP leadership has realized that without breaking Coordination Committee it was not possible for the party to sabotage the stir which is gradually becoming a popular mass movement in Jammu province which was earlier considered as strong hold of BJP.
Insiders in BJP also indicated that BJP leaders especially those who have secured cabinet berth in Mufti Mohammad led PDP-BJP coalition government are sending signals to their grass-root level workers to discourage AIIMS issue but the BJP workers too have cleared their views before the party leaders that they cannot control the emotions of Jammu people who are angry with BJP's decision of shifting AIIMS from Jammu to Kashmir valley.
Authoritative sources said that a senior BJP leader established direct communication with Bar Association President Abhinav Sharma and promised to arrange his meeting with BJP leader Ram Madhav or any any party stalwart at national level but Abhinav Sharma straightway refused to meet any BJP leader in individual capacity. Coordination Committee chairman, Advocate Abhinav Sharma, sources said, told that BJP leader that he would ready to meet any BJP leader along with other members of the Coordination Committee. He also conveyed to that BJP leader that if BJP is really serious to resolve the AIIMS issue then BJP must officially invite coordination committee on table.
Sources further informed that advocate Abhinav Sharma also shared the information with other members of coordination committee and earned a big applause for his stand on Jammu issue. They expressed full faith and confidence on him and further pledged not even a single Jammuite will sit back and rather will continue to fight till Jammu does not get back its self respect and due share in all spheres.
