Tussle for one-upmanship between two ministers | 100 days of PDP-BJP Govt mark bickering in BJP…! | | Early Times Report jammu, June 8: Hundred days celebration of the PDP-BJP coalition regime was marked with visible bickering in the "disciplined" BJP after two senior ministers organized two simultaneous press conferences to celebrate this "historic" occasion. Infighting in the BJP was an open secret especially after formation of the coalition government with PDP but this bickering came to the fore today when two BJP Ministers addressed two separate press conferences almost simultaneously at same time. Both the ministers highlighted 100 days achievements of the coalition government. Both the ministers tried to skip the issues relating to Jammu region and tried to emphasize only on policy decisions which have been taken by the government so far. Credible sources in the BJP said that one minister had earlier decided to hold press conference to highlight 100 days achievements of his government on June 8 and had informed party leadership about the press conference but this morning another BJP minister decided to hold media interaction at his residence. Reliable sources said that some "over-enthusiastic" and "more loyal than king" advisors of the BJP Minister, who took a decision to address a news conference this morning, guided him to hold media interaction at the eleventh hour to steal the show of 100 days. "It was overnight development as when the advisors of the BJP minister came to know that another BJP minister has already decided to hold the press conference for completion of 100 days of the PDP-BJP coalition, they swung into action and guided the power BJP minister to also hold a similar press conference and take the mileage out of it," revealed sources. BJP ministers have made fun of themselves by organizing two simultaneous press conferences on same issues. "Instead of holding parallel conferences, the BJP ministers should have held a joint press conference with a united face involving other party ministers as well," a BJP leader told Early Times. He also opined that "keeping in view the situation especially in Jammu region after the decision of shelving Artificial Lake project and shifting AIIMS from Jammu to Kashmir valley, there was no big reason to celebrate 100 days in office as in past over 50 days BJP has faced sheer criticism for its U-Turn and Kashmir centric approach." "BJP ministers should have at least learned from Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and his party ministers as they too have completed 100 days but instead of going before media, PDP leadership is working at grass root level listening to the problems of the people in Kashmir," quipped another BJP leader. |
