Jammu, June 8: Amid rhetoric by senior leaders for united face of Congress party, the split in party has once again came to fore and this time in District Kishtwar, wherein during a workers' convention on Monday, some allegedly expelled party leaders were allowed to address the gathering while the District president was ignored.
Sources informed Early Times that the District Kishtwar Congress convention was organized on the instructions of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Vice president GM Saroori, who is from Inderwal constituency but the District Congress Committee Kishtwar president Pardeep Singh Parihar was deliberately ignored by not inviting him in the convention.
"The main function of party convention was organized in main Kishtwar but District President of Congress Padeep Singh Parihar gave a warm reception along with over hundred party workers, to JKPCC president Gulam Ahmed Mir at Shalimar Chowk, some three kilometers from the place, where main function was organized", sources said.
They further informed that though, District President was not invited in the function but on the directions of President, he attended the party convention.
Sources further alleged that some party leaders, who were expelled by former President of JKPCC Saif-ud-din, also addressed the gathering. "Mohinder Singh Parihar was allegedly expelled by Saif-ud-din Soz while Sarpanch Noordin also addressed the gathering, who was also expelled by District Congress Kishtwar on the instructions of former President but addressed the gathering, and it is still unknown when these leaders returned back to party fold", sources said.
They further informed that while concluding the function, President GA Mir, asked Congress workers from Kishtwar to raise their hands and there were only a dozen workers from Kishtwar while rest all were from Inderwal constituency, being represented by MLA GM Saroori.
When contacted, DCC Kishtwar President, Pardeep Singh Parihar admitted that he was not consulted and even didn't receive any formal invitation for the convention.
On being asked, if some ousted party leaders addressed the gathering, he said that Mohinder Singh Parihar, who was stage secretary was ousted by former JKPCC president Saif-ud-din Soz, while Sarpanch Noordin was expelled by District Congress Committee, after he had not responded to show cause notice given to him.
JKPCC Vice President, GM Saroori and President GA Mir didn't pick up their phone despite repeated calls.
