Record Rs 1058 cr tax collected for FY 2013-14: Thatai | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 3 : Jammu and Kashmir Income Tax Department Commissioner AK Thatai today said that record Rs 1058 crore tax has been collected for the recently concluded 2013-2014 Financial Year. "The department has not only achieved the target fixed by Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) at Rs 880.53 Crores but also exceeded the collections by a convincing amount 177.47 Crores," Thatai told reporters here this evening. He however, acknowledged the active support of his team and subordinate staff. Giving a comparison to last FY collection, he said, ''the department against target of Rs 880.58 crore collected approximately Rs 1058 (1057.58) crore as compared to corresponding previous years target of Rs 696.43 and collection of Rs 820.94 crore.'' Thatai said that the payment of taxes has been increased across the board in all spheres of business carried out in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. He however, claimed implementation of a transparent and judicious tax administration and said, "out of 148 grievances received, 139 were disposed of while only nine are pending in this FY 2013-14 as compared to 82, 72 and 10 respectively in last FY 2012-13". Concluding his address he assured for implementing a transparent and judicious tax administration and providing them necessary infrastructure in means so that the officers and staff can work and discharge their assigned duties diligently and efficiently. |
