Why Omar hasn't campaigned for Azad so far? | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 3: The offer from J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to campaign on behalf of Ghulam Nabi Azad in Udhampur-Doda parliamentary constituency was never put into actual practice by him. Since the nomination papers were filed in Kathua by the Congress candidate, Omar Abdullah hasn't gone to any area of this constituency to campaign for Azad and seek votes for him. To woo the people present on the nomination day and to get a headline in media, Omar made an offer which has never been realized. The National Conference (NC) working President is only busy in seeking votes for his father and other NC candidates from valley. He toured Rajouri and Poonch district to seek votes for Congress candidate Madan Lal Sharma, but so far he hasn't campaigned in any part of Udhampur-Doda seat. The Chief Minister should have stood by his words and offer made to the tallest Congress leader from J&K and so far he should have at least toured those areas where NC has some kind of a hold. But reasons best known to him alone can justify as why he hasn't campaigned for Azad so far. Omar must be having excuses that Azad Sahib didn't ask to campaign as he himself is busy in seeking votes but the Chief Minister had given offer himself as no Congress leader asked him to do that. Now, if the NC working president is not available, at least his provincial president of Jammu should have toured areas, from where he actually belongs in Doda district and minimize the effect of BJP candidate Jatindra Singh, who is the brother of NC provincial president. But it seems that NC men only believe in hollow slogans and their only aim is to work for party only and somehow manage to capture the chair. |
